About

Stranger Creek is a proposed 300-megawatt / 1,200 megawatt-hours utility-scale battery storage project in development in Leavenworth County, Kansas. Vesper Energy is developing the project and is responsible for it through construction, operations, and eventually decommissioning, when all equipment is removed, and the land is returned to its prior use.
We engage directly with community members, local officials and a landowner throughout development, welcoming open communication and transparent dialogue with residents and stakeholders. Our goal is to be a responsible, reliable partner that Leavenworth County can count on through the development, construction, and life of the project.

About Stranger Creek

Stranger Creek is a proposed 300-megawatt / 1,200 megawatt-hours utility-scale battery storage project developed by Vesper Energy. The project will be installed in Leavenworth County directly adjacent to the stranger creek substation. Stranger Creek is expected to begin operations in 2029.

Stranger Creek is expected to operate for 20+ years. During that time, the project will create good-paying construction jobs, provide long-term income for the participating landowner, and support the local economy while ensuring a more stable and dependable energy supply.
